The 4C’s

Colour:

Colour of a diamond refers to the absence of colour and GIA’s D-Z Diamond Colour Grading System measures the degree of colourlessness of a diamond through close analysis of the diamond under controlled lighting and precise viewing conditions.

As made evident from the GIA Colour Scale, colourlessness distinctly varies from diamond to diamond and over the past 50 years, our diamonds have constituted with our core values to provide the highest quality jewellery.

The absence of colour refers to a chemically pure and structurally perfect diamond, which has a higher value. However, differences in the colour of a diamond aren’t easily identifiable by the human eye but these subtle diamond colour distinctions result in massive differences in quality and price and therefore our GIA specialist will be happy to assist you in selecting the perfect diamond.

Clarity:

Clarity of a diamond refers to the absence of blemishes that are visible on the diamond, which are a result of natural exposure to external factors such as pressure on the diamond and temperature changes. Thus resulting in external characteristics on the diamond, which are known as blemishes and internal characteristics on the diamonds, which are referred to as inclusions.

GIA have devised Clarity Grading, which determines the higher value of the diamond, by fewer internal and external characteristics.

GIA Clarity Grading Scale ranges from;

These grading systems might not be identifiable to your naked eye, but close inspection from our instore GIA qualified diamond specialist will ensure you are getting the best quality diamond.

At Ramesh Jewellers, we provide a GIA approved guarantee that all our diamonds will range from Flawless to Very, very slightly included, to ensure you are getting the highest standard diamond to provide timeless elegance.

Cut

The diamonds cut enables the best visionary of transmitting light and sparkle through the diamond and GIA analyses the dimensions of the diamonds facets, which ultimately influence the diamonds overall appearance and value. Precise creativity and proficiency are essential to ensure the proportions, symmetry and polish distribute the beautiful brightness, fire and scintillation of a diamond.

The GIA Cut Scale ranges from Excellent to Poor and Ramesh Jewellers ensures all diamonds meet the standards of Excellent to Good, to ensure you are getting the best quality. The cut of a diamond is closely inspected in correlation with the design and creation of the diamond, which compares
weight in relation to diameter, girdle thickness, symmetry of facet arrangement and quality of polish.

Carat Weight

The Carat Weight of a Diamond measures the apparent size of the diamond, ranging from 0.50ct to 5.00ct and determines how much the diamond weighs. The higher the carat weight, the larger the diamond, however the value of the diamond is dependent on the remaining 4C’s; clarity, colour and cut because subtle differences in these can affect the value and composition of a diamond drastically. Therefore our instore GIA Specialist and our team of experienced craftsman will work together with you educate and guide at every stage of your purchasing process.
